Our Mission:

At Mountain Ridge Dog Pack, our mission is to support both dogs and their owners by providing a safe and enjoyable space for play, socialization, and learning. We believe that training should be FUN and rewarding, and that every dog deserves the opportunity to explore the world alongside their owner.

Behind The Scenes

Owner - Emma Best

Mountain Ridge Dog Pack is proudly owned and operated by me, Emma Best, a lifelong Vermonter with a deep passion for animals. After earning my bachelor’s degree in Accounting & Business Management from Castleton University, I spent a year in the accounting field. However, my true calling led me to pursue a career with dogs, and I’ve never looked back. My love for animals has always been a constant in my life, with my own dogs by my side on every adventure—whether it’s hiking, camping, kayaking, or paddleboarding.

Continued education is important to me; when we know better we do better!

I am committed to continually expanding my knowledge by attending courses and workshops to stay up-to-date with the latest in dog training. I’m a proud graduate of the My Dog Camp Course and completed a 3-day E-collar workshop. I also graduated from a year-long dog training program with professional dog trainer and mentor, Rhonda Bilodeau. Additionally, I participated in a 3-day workshop, Play As The Way!, led by renowned trainer Jay Jack, which focused on fostering strong relationships between owners and their dogs.

To further my expertise, I have completed several online courses, including Mastering the Remote Collar, Happy Rescue Dogs, TBTE L1, and Puppy Lab.

I deeply value ongoing education, as training methods and best practices are always evolving. My goal is to provide my clients with the most effective, up-to-date information to ensure successful training outcomes for their dogs.

My dogs - Franklin, Echo & Otter

Franklin - 8 year old Australian Shepherd

Franklin, a vibrant and loyal companion, has played a huge role in my decision to start this business. He has taught me so much along this journey. I have been able to see first hand, how these training technics can greatly improve owner's and dog's lives, as it did for Franklin and I. He continues to help me teach the all of the dogs at camp. When he's not helping me with dogs, he's home at our hobby farm keeping the animals in order or out on an adventure!

Echo - 4 year old Australian Shepherd

Echo has become my right hand women while running MRDP. Echo's loving personality and confidence is beyond valuable in helping other dogs continue to grow while she helps private training clients & their dogs. She loves a good camp day and exploring with her friends while running free. She has become an invaluable asset to MRDP. When she's not at camp or working at lessons, you can find her

Otter - 3 year old island pup

Otter was a foster who quickly turned into a official foster fail - we couldn't pass up the opportunity to had this sweet and sassy girl to our family. While born in St. Croix, she has made an adjustment to Vermont and is truly living her best life. She is well reserved and fearless despite her 20lb size and truly a great addition to MRDP.
